My Faith

Do You Believe in God’s Unconditional Love?

Today is Valentine’s day. The day of love. Is anyone else in over their heads in box decorating, Valentine addressing, and gift buying?

Yikes.

On a brighter note, I picked out my annual Trader Joe’s bouquet earlier this week. Isn’t it beautiful? And I splurged from my usual $3.99 to $9.99 bouquet! Crazy times at the Kleckner household!

In the midst of roses, chocolates, Pinterest-inspired Valentine’s boxes, conversation hearts, and Hallmark cards, I want to discuss a different aspect of love.

Let’s explore God’s love for us.

At a recent women’s ministry gathering at my church, our speaker spoke about God’s abundant love for us.

God always loves us 100%. Even during the moments we are rotten, irritable, mean, or feeling unworthy.

His love for you is 100%.

Even when we are kind, caring, generous, and downright perfect (ish).

His love for you is 100%.

God’s love is unconditional.

It is never-ending.

Psalm 86:15 says, But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

Did you catch that last part? Unfailing love and faithfulness.

Even when you are at your worst, even when you have hit rock bottom, His love for you does not change. You are His beautiful child. For all of eternity.

Have you received this beautiful gift of unconditional and unfailing love in your heart? A love like no other? Beyond measure?

Because we have all had our moments. I can personally think of a handful of situations where God’s love for me should have definitely wavered.

There have been so many moments where I was not living in God’s glory, I was not being true to myself, where I should be unlovable. But I believe – with all my heart – that God is down on the ground with me in those moments, rubbing my back when I am brought to my knees.

That is who God is! God is with you in your lowest moments, He is wrapped around you when you feel unlovable.

Do you believe in God’s unconditional love even when you are fighting with your faith? Do you question God’s involvement in your circumstances? When you know God can fix your problems, but He just seemingly does not show up do you wonder where He is?

God. Is. There. He wants you to question your faith because that is how you grow. When you ask questions and dig for answers you are building a solid foundation with the Lord.

And yet – in these periods of questioning – His love for you is complete.

His love for you is 100%.

God’s love for you never changes. Imagine how you love your own children or your spouse and multiply that by a billion. And more.

No human can understand the love God has for you. There is no earthly relationship that can replicate it.

Rest in the assurance that God loves you in every moment. He gave His son Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins.

So no matter how hard you fall, how low life gets, how complicated things are, there is one thing you can rely on, God’s unconditional love.

Let God’s love change you, lead you, grow you, embrace you.

Love God passionately.

Be in communication with Him.

As your love grows for Him, your life will change. Suddenly, you will not feel so alone, you will fear death a little less, and you will feel kindness pour out of you. Let God’s unconditional love be your guiding light.

Take 30 seconds and pray. Thank God for His unconditional love for you. Ask Him to let His love shine through you in all you do.

Think long and hard about God’s love for you on this Valentine’s Day. We know His love for you is 100%.

It is, however, your choice to accept His love and to love Him back.

Happy Valentine’s Day my friends!

Until Next Time,

Neko
