My Faith

This Thanksgiving…

Today is Thanksgiving and I have a whole lot to be thankful for. We’re fresh off of an amazing vacation to Nashville with our dearest friends. It was a perfect getaway.

But before I could even post our photos on Instagram, the post-vacation “hangover” began. And the countdown to Christmas infiltrated my every thought.

The gifts, the planning, the expectations.

When did the holiday season become this way?

I have an amazing husband and wonderful children. I have family that I love, friends that I adore, a house to live in, and food to eat.

And the list goes on.

But as I sat down to write, I was anxious. I couldn’t focus on writing because I could feel my to-do list growing with each key stroke.

It makes me sad that I can’t slow down to appreciate a holiday that literally has the word THANKS in the title.

Admitting I have a problem is the first step, right?

I have a problem.

I also have a solution.

This Thanksgiving day I will be thankful. I will celebrate by being grateful I can spend precious time with my family. I will take a break from my list and bask in the joy that is my life.

This Thanksgiving I want to be thankful that I have December to look forward to. Specifically, December 25th when a tiny baby in a manager changed everything.

There’s a chance on December 1st I’ll feel a little like this…

But today, I plan to feel like this…

And especially like this…

That’s my goal for today. Care to join me?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today I’m especially thankful for YOU!

Until Next Time,

Neko
