What’s a Neko? 2019 Reading Challenge

I love to read, I always have. But sometimes I find it hard to make the time to sit down and open a good book. I have the time – we all do – I just have to motivate myself to do it (i.e. put down my phone and read instead).

What am I motivated by? Challenges! I’m *slightly* competitive by nature, so if I throw out a reading challenge I will be super encouraged to finish it and YOU will all hold me accountable. Right?

I’ve listed 20 categories of books I’d like to challenge myself to read in 2019. The last couple of years I’ve been stuck on non-fiction, so I’m going out of my comfort zone in 2019.

    1. Awesome! I hear ya, I have so many books I want to read, I just need to make time to do it! And accountability 😉

  1. Does “listening” to the book count? I am on the road a lot and find myself nodding off at night so I like to listen to the book while driving.

  2. I love this! I may or may not have challenged myself to read or listen to 52 books this year! And I work full time. #goodbyefamily 😂

  3. I’ll play. I’m pretty good at reading books, but always fail these challenges because I’m terrible at following the categories. Yours look fun….I’ll try!

  4. This is awesome!!! I love to read, so this is a great challenge!!!

If anyone needs a “book recommended by a friend”, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi is one of my favorites. It’s the true story of a devout Muslim man coming to find Jesus!

Or, if anyone needs a book with over 400 pages, Heaven by Randy Alcorn is wonderful. Well, I’m like 80% sure it’s over 400 pages 😬😬😬

  5. You know that I’m not the best book reader (because I really don’t “allow” myself to sit and relax during the day!). But, I’ve printed it off and I’m going to do my best!
